A friend, Ronnie Rose, stated that during Ken’s college years he only knew of Ken to have had one “B” in Speech. The rest of his grades were A’s. He completed his student teaching in Colbert, Oklahoma. Immediately upon graduating he started his career on October 12, 1975, with the Natural Resources Conservation Services (NRCS); where he worked in Altus; Wilburton; and was currently employed in Poteau, at the time of his death, as the Leflore County District Conservationist, receiving many awards during his lifelong career.
He was an active member of Shiloh Assembly of God Church where he taught the Senior Adult Sunday School Class.
He loved spending time on his farm working his cattle and chicken houses with his son, Travis, playing skip bo with his many friends, always looking to cause a smile with his “What it is”, What it will”, and “what it does”.
He prided himself as most always being the first in line at church meals. He would always say we better get in line or we won’t get nothing. He was a great comedian with always a story to tell. He was a true friend to all who confided in him.
