Isla Rhae Clay

Norman, Oklahoma formerly of Stigler

Isla Rhae Clay, 71, born December 26th, 1938 went to be with our Heavenly Father on June 25th, 2010. Isla Rhae was born in Ft. Smith, Arkansas to Irene (Holland) Clay and G.A. Clay. In 1956, Isla Rhae was married to Gordon Maxwell and from this union three children were born; Bobby G. Maxwell, Christopher C. Maxwell and Julie A. (Maxwell) Shelton. After gradating from Stigler High School in 1957, Isla Rhae and Gordon lived for a short time in Longview, Texas, but were drawn back to Stigler. Isla Rhae was a Mary Kay Consultant (20 years) and established her Mary Kay business in the living room of her home. She invited ladies to come and receive facials and sample the many new products. She reached the pinnacle of success in Mary Kay when she took delivery of the Mary Kay Pink Buick. Isla Rhae cherished her many friends she made; however, her most important job was that of a homemaker. Isla Rhae always put family first.

Isla Rhae had recently moved to Norman, Oklahoma to be closer to her daughter, Julie Shelton, her husband, Gary, and grandchildren, Grant and Hannah, and her son, Christopher Maxwell. She enjoyed going to arts and crafts shows and searching for her many treasures and keepsakes. Isla Rhae will be remembered for her kind nature, her ability to talk and as someone who never met a stranger. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

Isla was preceded in death by her father, G.A. Clay; and her son, Bobby G. Maxwell.
